HISTORY AND FUTURE
Ingrid Roosen-Trinks has been involved with art & culture for 50 years. She has collected contemporary art privately since 1973. Through professional positions such as the founding Managing Director of KLASSIK RADIO (1990-1995/Bertelsmann), a member of the Management Board of Montblanc International (responsible for PR, events and culture worldwide), a member of the Executive Board of the Montblanc Cultural Foundation (1996 – 2013) and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Konzerthaus BERLIN (since 2014), it has always been her concern, both in business and in her private life, to discover and encourage unknown young artists. In addition to musicians and opera singers, this also includes contemporary visual artists and actors.
Over the years, the ROOSEN-TRINKS COLLECTION has developed into a mixture of works by young international and German painters, photo artists, sculptors and multimedia artists. Today, the collection comprises over 500 works, from space-filling installations to collages, photographic works and paintings.
The ROOSEN-TRINKS COLLECTION was open to the public in private premises in Berlin from 2004 to 2019. The collection focuses on the themes of “Portraits” and “Humour”. Ingrid Roosen-Trinks personally knows almost all of the artists represented in her collection.
After many years in Berlin, the collection is now accsessible for the public, in rural surroundings and an unusual ambience: the right place has been found in the Wittkielhof. This is where the collection has now made its home!
The wonderful rooms of the Wittkielhof, especially the Asmus Petersen Barn, were transformed with much love and commitment into the perfect exhibition space. We look forward to many more projects!
